Weingut Tement Sauvignon Blanc Kalk & Kreide

Weingut Tement produce the very best Sauvignons in Austria, rivaling many a Sancerre or Pouilly Fumé too. Racy and fresh with crushed nettle, citrus and minerals, the palate is refreshing and very elegant shot through with citrus and saline minerals, impressive.

Manfred Tement runs this excellent organic estate helped by his two sons Armin and Stefan, farming 10 vineyard sites in the high lying Sudsteiermark region in the southeast of Austria close to the border with Slovenia. Their wines were certified Biodynamic from the 2022 vintage. Their Kalk & Kreide is selected from 55 differing plots, mostly on limestone. The fermentation takes place in stainless steel with their natural yeasts and aged on its lees for 8 months with a portion in old oak.
