Based way up in the Valdostan mountains in northern Italy's Aosta Valley, Elio Ottin has been making wine since 2007. Made using the native grape, Fumin, this wine has dense bramble and cherry fruit with a rustic charm on the palate but impeccable balance and poise. Think a cross between Gamay and Syrah. Drinking well now but has definite ageing potential.
