Calera means 'lime kiln' in Spanish, and it is these soils that legendary vintner and pioneer Josh Jensen was seeking out when he planted vines in 1971. Having cut his teeth in Côte d'Or, this wine is made very much in the Burgundian style. Expect dark raspberry, sandalwood, and clove on the bouquet. On the palate, layers of blackcurrant and ripe cherry offset by supple tannins, hints of baking spice, and with a long, polished finish.
